Summary

Parses a line of directory listing.

Syntax

Boolean Parse (ListLine, IsDir, Name, Size, DateTime, Permissions)

ListLine String
IsDir Integer
Name String
Size Long
DateTime String
Permissions String

Description

This method parses the directory list information (specified in ListLine) and returns the isdir, name, size, date/time and permissions in IsDir, Name, Size, DateTime, Permisions parameters. ListLine contains the line returned by the server during a ListDir command. Parameter IsDir returns 1 if it is a directory otherwise it returns 0.

Since the directory listing information varies with different host types, the HostType function must be called to indicate the remote host type before this function is called.

Example

Result = FtpClient.Parse(Target, IsDir, Name, Size, DateTime, Permissions)

If Result = False Then

Exit Sub

Else

sResult = "IsDir: " & Str(IsDir) & "Name: " & Name & " Size: " & Str(Size) & " DateTime: " & DateTime & " Permissions: " & Permissions

MsgBox (sResult)

End If

"The night before I went on summer holiday we had to make some 'last minute' configuration changes to approx. 300 routers, a tedious job to do manually with telnet. We went along with MS Excel containing a list of IP-adresses to the routers, and the VIT telnet-component. One hour later the VBA-application (small is beautiful) was working, and after another hour all of our routers were updated with the new configuration. I just say a big "Thanks" to you all for a good sleep that night."
