Summary
Content type for the message body or attachment.
Description
The purpose of the ContentType property is to describe the data contained in the body
of the message or attachment. The ContentType property and the Subtype property together
specify the "Content Type" field of the header. The ContentType property can be
set to one of the following values.
| Value |
Meaning |
| "text" |
Textual information. |
| "audio" |
Audio data. |
| "video" |
Video data. |
| "image" |
Image data. |
| "message" |
Encapsulated message. |
| "multipart" |
Multiple parts of independent types. |
| "application" |
Uninterpreted binary data. |
Each content type has one or more subtypes. Please check the reference page of the
Subtype property for additional information.
The ContentType and Subtype properties are mandatory for MIME messages, but are not
relevant for non MIME messages. If used, the property should be set in the OnSetHeader
events that occur in response to calling the CreateMessage method (or set before setting
the Action property to the deprecated ACTION_CREATE value, calling the deprecated Create
or CreateX method, and in the deprecated OnHeader event).
The MIME ActiveX control will set this property during the message extraction process,
initiated by calling the ExtractMessageEnd method (or the deprecated Extract or ExtractX
method). This property will be set immediately prior to firing the OnRecvHeader event (or
the deprecated OnHeader event). This property will contain the content type of the
extracted file. Please check this property during the OnRecvHeader or OnExtract event. A
ContentType of "image" and Subtype of "gif" tells the application that
the data is an image and this information may be used to display the raw data.
This property can be changed at design time and changed at run time. There is no
default value for this property.
Example
Private Sub MIME_OnSetHeader(Info As String, Length As Integer, Status As Integer)
MIME.ContentType = "image"
MIME.Subtype = "gif"
MIME.ContentId = id129@foo.com
MIME.ContentBase = http://www.foo.com
MIME.ContentLocation = "/images/logo.gif"
.
.
End Sub
