If you are planning to install the Distinct Visual Internet Toolkit-32 under Windows NT
you should read the following information.
Administrator Privileges
In order for the Distinct Visual Internet Toolkit-32 to update the path in the Registry
during installation you need to have administrative privileges. Setup needs to update the
registry path because the Distinct Visual Internet Toolkit-32 does not create its own icon
to indicate the path to files.
If you do not have administrative privileges Setup will inform you that the path was
unable to be updated and will give you instructions telling you how to manually update the
path in the Registry. However, most users will have the required administrative
privileges.
Common and Personal Groups
This section is provided as general information only. If you have administrative
privileges Setup will detect this and install the files to a common group. Common groups
are generally available to (i.e., accessible by) all users.
If you do not have any administrative privileges then the files will be installed to a
personal group. Only the owner of that user profile can see or access these groups.
Personal users can also see files in the common groups.
When upgrading your Visual Internet Toolkit-32 to a newer version you should take care
to ensure that the installation is done by a user with at least the same level of
privileges as the user who did the original installation. If you do not, it is possible
that NT will create a new group for the Distinct Visual Internet Toolkit-32.
